Provides students with firsthand experience developing new media artworks in relationship to the needs of specific communities and social struggles. Students develop content using new media practices, tools, systems, and strategies. The final artwork can utilize video, film, digital media, social networks, and app development, among other new media art forms. Students are billed for a materials fee. Prerequisite(s): Art 20B, 20I, 20K 21, 22, 102, 103, 104, or 107 or CMPS 25 or CMPM 25; and two courses from lower-division art studios courses (Art 15-40) or by permission of instructor. Enrollment restricted to art majors. May be repeated for credit.
