Photogravure at Manhattan Graphics Center
March 1 - March 30, 2016
Opening reception: Saturday, March 5 6:30 - 8:30 pm
250 West 40th Street, 5th floor New York, New York
Manhattan Graphics Center is very pleased to present an exhibition of photogravures made by its members and friends. Manhattan Graphics Center has supported copper plate photogravure for more than 20 years. The first class was offered in 1995 to 5 students by Lothar Osterburg. Over the years, Lothar has refined and adapted the process reflecting the change in supplies available for plate making. At our current location, Beth Ganz has continued to make classes available to platemakers of all levels. The result is a very dedicated community of artists who have applied this 19th Century process to their contemporary art practice. The show includes artist members from Denmark, France and Turkey as well as a majority from the US. Please join us for the opening reception on March 5.
