Some Assembly Required: Race, Gender & Globalization

UCSC Gallery Director Shelby Graham was invited to show an exhibition she curated for the Sesnon Gallery at the Craft & Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles. Some Assembly Required: Race, Gender and Globalization was part of a larger county-wide, multi-venue collaboration on Assemblage, Collage + Construction in 2009. The exhibition was well received by the UC Santa Cruz campus and Bay Area communities and Graham looks forward to sharing it with Los Angeles.  Artists included: Kim Boekbinder, Gaza Bowen, Len Davis, Elizabeth Dorbad, Mildred Howard, Lucien Kubo, Willie Little, Douglas McClellan, Amalia Mesa-Bains, Adia Millett, Monty Monty, Dominique Moody, Alison Saar, Betye Saar, Susan Tibbles, Flo Oy Wong, and Maggie Yee.
