Abstract Painting

Exploration of abstract painting through studio work, lectures, and critiques with emphasis on progressive abstraction, minimalism, op art, and abstract expressionism as well as other 20th-century and 21st-century forms. A foundation in drawing is recommended. Students are billed a materials fee. Prerequisite(s): One from Art 20J,130, 137, 138, or 139; and two non-painting lower-division studios from Art 15, 20G, 20H, 20I, 20K, 26, and Computational Media 25. Enrollment restricted to art majors. May be repeated for credit.
