Introductory course for beginners. Various techniques examined and assigned in specific exercises. Work on projects using color film; this is a non-darkroom course. Examples given of photography from 1826 to the present. Balances historical study and practice through assigned homework exercises. Students must provide their own camera, preferably one with a manual setting. No phone cameras allowed.Students are billed a materials fee. (General Education Code(s): IM, T4-Humanities and Arts, A.)
