The Student Art Movement (S.A.M.) is an emerging group of UCSC art students engaged in developing a community for creativity and innovation within the Art Department. Working on a variety of fronts, S.A.M. creates quarterly art events, initiates community art projects both on and off-campus, and is working towards a student-run course on worldwide Masters Programs and internships for emerging artists.
The inaugural project created by the Student Art Movement is the Resource and Research Facilitation Project. A web-based database for residencies, grants, fellowships and other helpful online funding guidelines and resources, this link has been designed to help emerging artists locate support for their creative work. The S.A.M. web resource site is an on-going enterprise by entrepreneurial art majors in the UCSC program, and will continue to be updated.
