My pencil crystal imagery is not only a symbol of the pressure of education but also the worldwide pressure to learn and grow. This image is of the limestone block that fractured under the lithography press in Fall of 2019.

The “Fishing for Art” photomontage series plays on the factors that both the fishing and art industries are built on private sales and ownership of products. I find it interesting how prestigious one can feel through catching a huge fish or coming across a priceless work of art.

As an individual with intersecting Asian backgrounds, this series is the artist’s visual response to the influx of violence and xenophobia towards the Asian/Asian American community recently. The series of photomontages were made using found images, created and manipulated in Photoshop, printed as inkjet negatives, and printed on Arches Platine.
