Special Topics in Drawing: Borderlands- Drawing at the Edge of Painting In this class we will be investigating the rich overlap between drawing and painting. Embracing the informal, spontaneous, and experimental potential of water media and paper, we will work on a series of drawings/paintings with the goal of developing an individual voice within the medium. We will be covering the fundamentals of watercolor, ink, and paper selection, with an opportunity to work with other mediums of your choice as your subject matter evolves. Readings and discussions will focus on the history and contemporary practice of works on paper and your work will be informed by group and individual critique.
