Special Topics in Printmaking: MokuLito Wood Lithography

This remote teaching course combines the traditional lithography process with relief woodblock printing. Students will explore drawing and painting materials with collage imaging techniques to develop layered prints. It is an organic, process expanding print medium developed in Japan by Seishi Ozaku, and is known as Mokurito (Moku meaning wood, and rito, short for lithography). Prerequisites: ART 20G or ART 26 and two non-print lower-division media studios from ART 15, ART 20H, ART 20I, ART 20J, ART 20K, ART 20L. Enrollment is restricted to art majors. Repeatable For Credit
