COVID-19 UPDATE 9/10/2021 
The Sesnon Gallery is scheduled to reopen in January 2022. Your safety is our first priority, and we continue to monitor the health and safety guidelines surrounding COVID-19 closely and in accordance with UC Santa Cruz campus precautions.

Currently, visitors to UC Santa Cruz are asked to complete a Visitor's Symptom Check before arriving and comply with mandatory face covering requirements on campus. Please stay home if you are feeling sick.

GALLERY HOURS
Mondays – Closed
Tuesday – Saturday, 12–5 p.m.
Wednesday 12–8 p.m.
Open through the academic year, closed for all University holidays and the summer months July and August.
Admission is free and open to the public.

We are located on the second floor of Porter College Academic Building, above the koi pond, at the University of California Santa Cruz. Porter College is within the northwest area of UCSC's campus.

ACCESSIBILITY
For wheelchair access, the elevator in our building is located at the far left side of Porter College Academic Building, near the Porter Squiggle. From the second floor, continue through the Academic building passed Classroom 250 and take the first exit to the right. Continuing down this hallway will bring you to the entrance of the Sesnon Gallery.

Public transportation from downtown Santa Cruz:
From Santa Cruz Metro Center, take bus routes 10, 18, 19, 20 to UCSC campus to Porter/Rachel Carson stop. SC Metro schedules.
Adult (17 and older) bus fare: $1, or show your UCSC student ID.

Follow path to Porter College passed the Porter Squiggle. The Sesnon Gallery is located on the second floor of the Porter Academic Building, above the koi pond and study center.

From San Francisco, CA by car: 
Via Highway 280-S
 

  • Take Hwy 280-S to Highway 85-S to Highway 17-S
  • Follow signs to Hwy 1 North to UCSC (Hwy 1 becomes Mission Street). 
  • Take Mission through 3 signals to Bay Street. Turn RIGHT on Bay Street. 
  • Take Bay Street up the hill to the signal at the MAIN ENTRANCE of campus. Turn LEFT onto High Street. 
  • Follow High Street up to the WEST ENTRANCE of campus. Turn RIGHT at WEST ENTRANCE onto Heller Drive. 
  • Continue on Heller through 3 stop signs. Make the next LEFT into PORTER COLLEGE.

Via Highway 1-S

  • Take Hwy 1 South to Santa Cruz. Hwy 1 South becomes Mission Street. 
  • Turn LEFT at first signal Western Drive. Follow Western Drive through 2 stop signs. 
  • Turn LEFT onto High Street/Empire Grade. Continue up to the WEST ENTRANCE of campus. 
  • Turn RIGHT at WEST ENTRANCE onto Heller Drive. Continue on Heller through 3 stop signs.  Make the next LEFT into PORTER COLLEGE. 

From San Jose, CA: take Hwy 17-S/880-S 

  • Follow Hwy 17-S to Santa Cruz
  • Follow signs to Hwy 1 North to UCSC (Hwy 1 becomes Mission Street). 
  • Take Mission through 3 signals to Bay Street. Turn RIGHT on Bay Street. 
  • Take Bay Street up the hill to the signal at the MAIN ENTRANCE of campus. Turn LEFT onto High Street. 
  • Follow High Street up to the WEST ENTRANCE of campus. Turn RIGHT at WEST ENTRANCE onto Heller Drive. 
  • Continue on Heller through 3 stop signs. Make the next LEFT into PORTER COLLEGE.

From LA or south county

  • When you get into Santa Cruz County, follow signs to Hwy 1 North to UCSC (Hwy 1 becomes Mission Street). 
  • Take Mission Street through 3 traffic signals to Bay Street.  Turn RIGHT on Bay Street. 
  • Take Bay Street up the hill to the signal at the MAIN ENTRANCE of campus. Turn LEFT onto High Street. 
  • Follow High Street up to the WEST ENTRANCE of campus. Turn RIGHT at WEST ENTRANCE onto Heller Drive. 
  • Continue on Heller through 3 stop signs. Make the next LEFT into PORTER COLLEGE. 

PARKING
The closest parking lots to the Gallery are #124 and #125 at Porter College. Additional parking can be found at the #126 Performing Arts lot. Permits are required 7 days a week in campus lots.

  • Before 4:30pm: Parking available in metered areas or in "A" lots with day parking permit purchased at the MAIN UCSC ENTRANCE campus kiosk. 
  • After 4:30pm: Parking available in "A" lots with permits purchased from electronic kiosk located in Porter College or Performing Arts lots. 
  • UCSC Parking Map
