Madison is a second-year HAVC major from Fairfield, CA. She is the Sesnon intern for the winter quarter, assisting in the curation of Califas Legacy. Madison is most interested in spirituality in art and architecture, contemporary art, and icons/iconoclasm– all of which conjoin at a major point of interest: Latinx art from across the Latin diaspora. She's curious about the ways Catholic colonialism still influences modern depictions and artistic understandings of Latino life, even in the midst of a decolonial movement. Furthermore, the ways folklore, superstition, and mysticism continue to pervade the ingrained Hispanic conservatism of Latino culture. On her off time, Madison writes poetry and creates art of her own.
