Michael Hilsman-Visiting Art Presentation

Michael Hilsman, a UC Santa Cruz alumni 2006, received his MFA from Hunter College in 2012. His work has been included in numerous periodicals including Modern Painters, The Huffington Post, The Village Voice, Le Point (France), The New York Times, Arte Mondadori (Italy), New American Paintings, and The Boston Globe. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, including solo shows in Turin, Italy, and New York. He has published art criticism including a catalogue essay for the exhibition “The Power of the Ornament,” at the Belvedere Museum, Vienna, and is an adjunct faculty member at Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan. In 2013 his work will be included in the forthcoming book published by Thames and Hudson, Nature Morte: Contemporary Artists Reinvigorate the Still Life, will have a solo exhibition at Galerie Sebastien Bertrand in Geneva, Switzerland.
