Annie Sprinkle has made work about sexuality for four decades. In the 70’s she was a porn star. In the 80’s she was a sex worker rights activist, a writer and photographer for sex magazines, and she directed her own “post porn” films. She was a pivotal player in the sex positive feminist movement. In the 90’s Sprinkle bridged into the art world and toured one-woman theater pieces about her life in sex. In 2002 Sprinkle became the first porn star to earn a Ph.D. Today her work explores eco sexuality.
