Thomas Goldie is a photographer and printmaker born and raised in Santa Cruz California. Through the lens of his camera, he explores environment, identity, personal relationships, feelings of nostalgia, and americana. He continually draws inspiration from his time spent growing up in Santa Cruz and the relationships he has fostered there. His work regularly references the natural and urban environments in which he spends his time. Using the techniques and skills honed through analog photography and various forms of printmaking, he aims to bridge the gap between these two practices to explore the interconnectedness of material and visual relationships. His photographs have been printed in various small print publications in the U.S., and internationally in “Magazine B”. His printed work has been featured in the Sesnon Gallery’s Art Salon series in 2021. While pursuing his Art degree at UCSC he has received the Irwin Scholarship, the Edward Carrillo Scholarship and Irwin Grant awards.
