Each year the Mary Porter Sesnon Art Gallery participates in Giving Day, a 24-hour fundraising campaign to support paid student internships, free artmaking workshops, and student-curated exhibitions in the Sesnon Underground.
Thanks to our donors, we are able to provide microgrants of up to $150 to students to support and advance their creative expression and practice, for example:
-
Funding workshop fees
-
Purchasing materials or equipment in support of art practice
-
Supporting costs with an exhibition
In order to qualify for an Underground Microgrant, you must:
-
Be currently enrolled in 6 units for more
-
Write a brief description of how you intend to use the funds of the grant and send to sesnon@ucsc.edu along with your information below.
Funds will be distributed via Financial Aid to your student account. Recipients of a Sesnon Underground microgrant will be limited to receive funding once a year.
Requirements
-
To fulfill the requirements of the grant, we ask the Artist to submit receipts and write a letter that we can share with our donors expressing how you used the grant.
-
Projects funded fully or partially from the Sesnon microgrant should acknowledge the Mary Porter Sesnon Art Gallery and its donors.
Send a pdf of your receipts to us along with your letter to sesnon@ucsc.edu or drop it off at the Sesnon Gallery in person no later than the end of the quarter in which you receive funding.
Please consider sharing our Sesnon Giving Page with your friends and family so we can continue providing student art encounters and grow our microgrant program!
