Public Art

Our studio classes in Public Art encourage creative research, design and practice outside the gallery setting.  These classes explore public art in its many manifestations; from site specific projects, contemporary memorials, political actions, projects that work with communities, environmental, temporary, ephemeral and permanent projects. Please see details at the Public Art class site.

Past projects have included commissions by the National Parks Service, the City of Santa Cruz and the Board of Education; a 35-foot-long installation made of recycled materials at the landfill site; a fifteen feet kinetic bike sculpture for the City of Santa Cruz, murals and social intervention projects.
