“Powered”, 2021

Mokulitho on Rives BFK

The damage from the power of electricity seems unpredictable with untamed dry land. The destruction that can come from dry lightning and downed power lines is triggering for any Californian. As powerful natural disasters become more common, I feel inclined to prepare for the challenges of the future.

“Carnivorous Zantentacle Botanical”, 2021

Smart Plate Lithograph on BFK

The Zantentacle Botanical is not easily found in its natural environment so one can only view this rare carnivorous plant in a few botanic gardens around the world. With its tentacles and roots protruding from its mouth, this plant grabs its prey and drowns the snack in its pitcher. It closes and surrounds its meal as a lily blooms from the nutrients. This bloom is in hopes that the Zantentacle will attract its next victim.

“An Angel Appears”

Smartplate lithograph

With this collage I tried to imagine my interpretation, as someone who is not religious, of a biblical angel. I want to believe that they would take a form both beautiful and terrifying, in the image of all the animals of the earth.

“Look”

Smart Plate Lithograph

A much scarier evolution of “He’s Here”, this monster has a coat adorned with eyes stolen from unlucky souls who happen to look it directly in its true eye. It wanders misty meadows at twilight, hoping not to be seen.
