"Water Lily Emulation"
Acrylic on Canvas
In this painting, I wanted to be able to emulate the calming and innocent ambiance that Heade captures in his floral paintings. I focused primarily on my color matching skills and making sure that each color related to one another so the ambiance I was looking to create was fluid and united. In the end, I am very proud of this painting because of the amount of time I dedicated to being sure that the colors I created all worked with one another in the piece.

“Cold reflection"
In this piece, my focus was centered on the glass of water shown on the left and being able to fully emulate the reflectiveness of that glass both in the water and the its surroundings. In doing so, I was could truly create a painting that fully showed the effects that glass of water had in reality. I truly enjoyed capturing the level of reflectivity I was seeing in this piece.

"Pop Grapes"
This painting reminds me a lot of many pop culture paintings which have a bright a colorful body created primary from bold colors. In this case, I only used yellow and blue to attempt to emulate the bowl of grapes in-front of me. As a results, I was left with a bright, yet dull, bowl of grapes that seem almost cartoonish.

“Clasp"
Graphite on paper
For this sketch, it was my goal to try a new form of sketching where I focus more on the values and depths within the hand to create the entirety of the drawing, rather than creating and outline first. This style resulted in a more complex and detailed drawing of my sister's hands that I otherwise would not have been able to achieve.
