Special Topics in Drawing: Comics Workshop

Enrollment by permission of instructor (see application link below). This studio course will provide students with the structure and various resources to create a short graphic narrative work. Weekly meetings will support the progression from research and ideation, through storyboarding, revision, art production, formatting, and printing. To supplement our focus on the production of original work, we will also read a selection of texts that cover both historical and theoretical touchstones for the genre, as well as recent works that are relevant to student interests and significant movements in the field. Students interested in producing work in all genres are welcome. Developing a personal workflow for future projects will be emphasized.
