I am an artist and educator. Site-specificity has been my focus for over 20 years. As a Brazilian, I approach the subject from a critical and South American perspective, having taught, lectured, and written extensively on the subject. In 2014, I worked on a postdoctoral research project at Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina, Brazil, where I collaborated with a biologist and an agronomist to study relations between site-specific art and agroecology, centering around agroforestry. That intersection has been my main interest since to this day and I look forward to expanding that at UCSC in collaboration with the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems and our new MFA in Environmental Art and Social Practice.
