2014 Skowhegan Fellowship

Mon, Nov 18, 2013, 8:00 am to Sun, Feb 2, 2014, 7:59 am

Skowhegan offers several full and partial scholarships and financial need should never be a deterrent to applying to the program.  It is our hope that knowing that financial assistance is available will encourage the best students to apply.

Skowhegan is continuing our Matching Fellowship program for the 2014 summer session. Skowhegan guarantees to find funding in our budget for any student if their home institution can match the contribution. Many programs participate in the matching program–19 out of 65 participants were supported through matches last summer. Skowhegan and the Matching School generally cover the full cost of the experience (each program pays $2,750), but we will find funding to match any amount provided by the institution if a full match is not possible. We have extended our pledge for funding to include alumni. It is a substantial commitment for us to extend the program, but we realize that as the application process becomes more competitive, many participants are no longer coming to the program right out of school. We hope that you will consider extending your matching funds to your alumni. The application process at Skowhegan is highly competitive, however, we are committed to finding the most talented emerging artists wherever they are. Having a diversity of voices in our program is so critical in allowing our participants to encounter new viewpoints, criticism, and experiences.

This year Skowhegan's application fee will increase incrementally beginning January 15, 2013. The one-time application fee for the 2014 summer session will cost $50 for those who apply between November 18 - January 14, 2013$65 to those that apply between January 15 - January 27, 2014; and $80 between January 27th until the application closes on February 1, 2014
