A. Laurie Palmer - Moss and Lichen Symposium on July 4

Temporary Gallery in Cologne is hosting a symposium on mosses and lichens this Saturday, July 4, to accompany their exhibition Floraphilia.

A. Laurie Palmer
Professor, Art Department
University of California, Santa Cruz

Three of us will be presenting on zoom — I will talk about The Lichen Museum, a book I have been working on feverishly, that sees lichens as anti-capitalist companions and climate change survivors.

Philosopher Michael Marder (author of The Chernobyl Herbarium, and Plant Thinking, among many other fabulous works), and the poet Urszula Zajączkowska will both talk about mosses in unexpected ways.

How better to spend your July 4 morning? (At least it will be morning in PST: 7 am til 12 noon! the times listed on the invite are for the Germans)

You have to register if you want to attend: https://www.temporarygallery.org/en/symposium-on-mosses-and-lichens-2/

with warmth and solidarity,
Laurie
