lvaylo Hristov is a visiting artist from Bulgaria awarded the CEC Artslink to work with UCSC Openlab collaborative Research Center. Born in 1979, lvaylo Hristov lives and works in Sofia, Bulgaria where he completed an MA in Painting at the National Academy of Arts in 2005. His works seek to add complexity to the 'ready made' by making interventions into objects, often using light, drawing, print and painting.

Hristov has presented works in solo exhibitions at Arhis Gallery, Varna, BG, Bulart Gallery, Varna, BG, Serdica Vault, Sofia, BG and National Art Gallery, Sofia, BG. He has also presented work in group exhibitions internationally, including at Transition Gallery, London, UK and SAMCA (Sofia Arsenal - Museum for Contemporary Art), Sofia, BG. Since 2000, he has won 20 awards for painting, drawing, photography, advertising and design including a Union of Bulgarian Artists Award for Drawing in 2015. In 2016 he presents his work in international exhibition Inferno at Pristine Galerie, MX.
